Recipe:
INGREDIENTS:
220 grams (1 3/4 cup) all-purpose flour
125 grams (4 oz.) butter, softened
90 grams (3/4 cup and 1 tablespoon) powdered sugar
1 egg yolk
1 teaspoon vanilla sugar
Zest of 1 orange
A pinch of salt
DIRECTIONS:
1- Preheat the oven to 360°F (180°C)
2- In a mixing bowl, combine together the butter, sugar, and a pinch of salt and mix until you get a soft consistency
3- Add the egg yolk, orange zest, and vanilla sugar. Mix well.
4- Gradually add the flour until the dough gets a homogenous and soft consistency and is no longer sticking to your fingers. Make sure not to over-knead the dough or the cookies will be hard
5- Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and let it set in the fridge for 30 minutes
6- Dust your rolling pin with flour, and over a piece of parchment paper, roll the dough to a 9.8x11.8 inches (25x30 centimeter) rectangle
7- Using a cookie cutter of your choice, cut the cookies then place them in a baking sheet lined with parchment paper
8- Place in the preheated oven for around 10 minutes or until they get a light golden color, then place aside and let cool completely
