Today marks the 29th anniversary of the Srebrenica genocide. Starting on July 11, 1995, 8372 Bosnian Muslim men and boys were murdered in cold blood by Serb forces and their remains scattered in mass graves, right in the heart of Europe.

As we remember the tragic events of the Srebrenica genocide in Bosnia, we must reflect on the words of the great Bosnian leader & thinker Alija Izetbegovic: "Whatever you do, do not forget the genocide. Because a forgotten genocide is always repeated."

This powerful reminder resonates strongly today as we witness the ongoing genocide taking place in Gaza, Palestine. Just as we honor the memories of those who perished in Srebrenica by keeping their stories alive, we must also stand in solidarity with the people of Gaza, ensuring their voices are heard and their struggles recognized.

Let us commit to remembering, to speaking out, and to taking action against all forms of injustice and oppression.
